Human Resources Generalist

We’re looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team and play a pivotal role in managing the daily functions of our Human Resources Department. Key Responsibilities
As a Human Resources Generalist, you will:
- Maintain and update our Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and generate reports as needed.
- Address internal and external employment-related inquiries with professionalism and accuracy.
- Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, communication, and issue resolution.
- Manage employee leaves of absence and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Lead the onboarding process for new hires, including paperwork, background checks, and access setup, ensuring a smooth transition.
- Collaborate with HR and organizational teams to disseminate communications and support company initiatives.
- Partner with leadership to drive organizational change and continuous improvement efforts.
- Provide direct support to the VP of HR, gaining exposure to various HR functions and experiences.
- Coordinate employee training and development programs in collaboration with the Manager of Learning and Development.
- Assist the Safety & Risk Manager with safety program support and record management.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of Human Resources experience.
- A solid understanding of employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, EEO, FLSA, ERISA, and COBRA/HIPAA.
- A commitment to delivering exceptional service to employees.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks under deadlines.
- Confidentiality and the ability to handle sensitive information responsibly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and the ability to learn new HR software applications.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- A proactive, results-oriented approach and a willingness to innovate.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to other office locations as needed.
