Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Control Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the CFO, this role is critical to managing the organization's inventory, ensuring the availability of materials, and supporting efficient purchasing and inventory control processes. Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management:
- Monitor stock levels across all physical locations to maintain accuracy between physical stock and computer inventory systems.
- Conduct regular inventory counts, audits, and reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and system records.

Process Establishment and Implementation:
- Develop and implement robust inventory control policies and procedures to minimize waste and reduce costs.
- Take the lead in standardizing inventory processes, ensuring they can be applied consistently across all departments and locations to enhance operational efficiency.

Stock Replenishment:
- Maintain consistent stock levels and order replenishments as necessary.

Collaboration:
- Work with purchasing to align inventory with job schedules and timelines.
- Coordinate receiving and distribution of materials as needed.

Vendor Management:
- Streamline vendor return processes, negotiate returns effectively, and communicate timely to maximize return on investments.

Continuous Improvement:
- Implement and refine inventory models to optimize warehouse utilization and enforce internal control procedures.
- Analyze usage trends to forecast future inventory needs and recommend cost-effective strategies.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and trends in inventory control, applying insights to drive improvements.

Leadership in Change:
- Prepare and present inventory performance reports to management, highlighting key metrics and strategic recommendations for improvement.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives by piloting new processes, gathering feedback, and overseeing organization-wide adoption.

Collaboration with Supervisors:
- Work closely with pre-fabrication and shop supervisors engaged in similar activities.
Qualifications

Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Preferred: Associate’s degree in supply chain management or business-related field with 5+ years of experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree with 1–2 years of experience in supply chain management, purchasing, warehouse, or inventory management.

Skills:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively engage with team members and vendors.
- Strong computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to learn new software.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking skills to handle priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to climb, bend, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to operate a forklift.

Other:
- Possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to job sites and external locations as needed.
