Description
We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Master Technician or Systems Integrator to join our Sioux Falls, Life Safety Systems team.  This role is responsible for providing service to our customers, from installing to troubleshooting and repairing to programming low voltage systems.  Some examples of duties include
  • Installing and servicing access control, CCTV, life safety, and other related systems from cable-pulling to device installation and programming.
  • Configuring IP networks.
  • Proficient in the coordination of communications of one or more separate non-proprietary special systems for remote monitoring.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  • Provide support for vendors - troubleshoot, coordinate the appropriate response, and resolve all system issues in a timely manner.
  • Get hands-on with field devices which may include some work out-of-town.
  • Foster close collaboration with clients and other departments
  • Serve as a mentor and trainer of less experienced co-workers to help them learn and grow.
Expertise Needed
  • Knowledge of test equipment - you can fix anything with a multimeter, a screwdriver and a pair of snips.
  • Experience in this field for five or more years, or enough so that you've had the opportunity to achieve certification in on ore more of the following: Bicsi, Nicet, RCDD, CCNA, CCND, Cisco Systems, Nortel, Lucent, Cabletron, etc.
  • The ability to program and administer all system software for at least one major communications and/or data networking system.
  • An aptitude for fixing things and curiosity to figure out how things work.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and pride taken in neat, tidy cable management.
  • Great communication skills - with co-workers, customers, and supervision.
  • A sense of urgency and grace under pressure.  When a system is down, you keep your cool and are calm in your approach to get it back up and running.
